Hi all, this was a subject back in 2007. There is a list from July 1995 to September 2007 in the backlogs of this forum.
I believe someone offered to update this. Did it happen? Or has anyone got a listing forwards from July 2007 or back from July 1995 they could publish?
Best regards to all
Roy

Hi Longbuild, thank you so much for the Spray of Joshua Slocum fame drawings and plans. I printed off the 3D drawing clearly marked as Spray on the transom and found all the information in Russian! Very nice drawing small error at the bow but excellent otherwise.
The very wide beam would mean that she would only need a keel for sailing into wind and internal ballast would work very well.
I have a Graupner Norderney fishing boat with a similar wide beam and I used internal ballast with a small sailing keel. It is interesting to note that she sails differently. Most yachts have a weighted keel and they seem to have a gentle pendulem effect when sailing.
This does not happen with internal ballast.
Anyone interested in Spray, there is a large 45 inch version by Vic Smeed in Sarik plans otherwise a small version in Model Boats mag, January 1966 and articles in subsequent ones. I watched a documentary 40 mins on Mr. S. it was a rise from nothing to world fame and back again and he was eventually lost at sea. Later examination suggests he may have been run down by a steamer.
Many thanks
Roy
