occasionally you come across some modeller who blows your mind.https://www.forces.net/services/navy/remarkable-model-navy-fleet-made-over-million-matchsticks-looking-new-home

Had a family jolly on Peacock in Rosythe before it went to HK. Waas in engine room when telegraph rang to get a waft on. Chief remarked "Captain thinks it's a bl**dy speed boat." Fuel allocation was exceeded so we had to 'Chug' back.
Wonder what the guy used, to stick them together??????

I saw this exhibition and Phil Warren last Thursday. The models are all to 1:300 scale and to a very high standard. An astounding amount of work over many years. It was displayed in the bowels of Nothe Tort at Weymouth. Must have been a huge job getting them all down into the underground room. As for sticking them together, I did see a tube of UHU compact glue.

One does wonder what will become of them. The big problem is that the display simply takes up so much room and museums simply will not have the space.

All very nicely done and a bit larger scale than the Fleet review we have at our Big Model Show in a couple of weeks time. Apart from space needed to house the models there is the maintenance and a steady environment that is required to keep them looking fresh.
Most museums are very careful over what models they can accept due to materials used in making the models and whether they have the access to other modellers to repair inevitable breakages and failures in glue etc.
Good luck to him with the disposal, as a club ex-Secretary I so often saw the damage a few years in a garage can do.
