As I keep getting asked.....
The 2024 Blackpool Model Show will be on the weekend of the 19th & 20th October at the Norbreck Castle Hotel, Blackpool.
Anyone who picked up a Component-Shop catalogue at this years show may notice a mis-print inside as the show date is incorrectly given as the 12th-13th October, please disregard that as it is 100% confirmed as the 19th-20th.
I have already had clubs trying to book display space for next year! Please don't - at least not yet. I will be starting things off in the New year, so anyone who was exhibiting at the show this year will be hearing from me at that time. If you weren't exhibiting at the show, but are interested in coming next year then by all means let me have your contact details & I will add you to the mailing list, but no bookings will be taken until next year after I have sent out the paperwork.
Also looking for opinion on something......
A few people have suggested making the show a 3 day event (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) really I'm unsure about this, but would welcome any opinions either for or against. Either comment here, DM me, or e-mail to the show contact address, which is [email protected] I guess if opinion is sufficiently in favour of 3 days, then it is something I ought to consider...

Thank you for the clarification Iain, very much appreciated and pencilled in for next year...cheers!
Ray.

Hi, is there an updated list of traders attending as the Shows Website only shows 1 and a few of our members are asking ?
Thanks.

ONE WEEK to the show!
Hope you all enjoy yourselves that come to this great gathering. :-)) :-)) :-))
-
Nothing like the Blackpool show to empty your wallet.
-
true enough, unless you are selling, and are lucky lol %% :-))
-
Blackpool is good at wallet emptying (very convenient though) but cannot hold a candle to the Dental bill I have just had. Be good to get all my bits though.
Cheers Everyone, here's to a good show for all :-)) :-)) :-))

CAN someone tell me please regarding access to bringing ones models to sit on the stands,
When are the tables being set up for clubs and such to be able to decorate and accept models ready for opening at 10.00am on saturday morning.
They used to be set up on Thursday night by Stavros, for I helped him the last 3 years that he did it so that clubs and such would be able to arrive all day on the friday, [this] friday, but I havent seen any notification as such this year.........
Any info please would be helpful. Thanks

Hi Neil,
Usually our club (Southport MBC) gets there for around 11.30/50 am and the tables are already set out. Then its stand set up (we have a new one this year) and boats/display etc put into place. I've never been on a Thursday so can't comment on that but as I understand it (don't quote me) access is from 12 noon. Hope this helps.
Regards, Pete SMBC.

cheers Pete.....dave and i would set the tables out on the thursday night ready for decerating on the friday......so thats fine, hopefully the lifeboat enthusiast stand will be similar for friday,,,,,will get there around noon as Martin Kinghoward who has all the table cloths will be there by then to give him a hand. .
thanks.

A small selection of photos I’ve taken over the weekend- big thank you to Iain and the Component Shop Team for organising a fantastic weekend- We (Wicksteed Park MBC) had a brilliant time and looking forward to next year. I’ll upload some more tomorrow after I’ve recovered from the 3.5 hour drive after the most enjoyable show. And by the way- evidence that the Scottish Lads are returning to Mayhem next year! :D

it was a lovely weekend meeting many old friends again, until i fell and hurt my ribs and wrist and then got home this afternoon to realise that someone had got in to my keyless entry car and stolen my Blue Badges............valueless money wise but a lifesaver to a decrepot old sod that i now am.
grrrrrr!
but the memories of meeting many old friends has bolstered my resolve noyt to dwell on such as the nasty things in life.

Feeling jealous, looks like it was great show but unfortunately now beyond my driving radius. Really good to see the amount of support though.
