Hi, iv got a large tug running schottel drives and my radio is a old planet set up...I don't think my radio is using the schottel to the potential...what radios are people using? Tia

Your Planet system should be fine for the job, it lacks the complications other transmitters might cause.
You don't say what the problem is, but I'm guessing you're not getting sufficient swing on the schottels? You need to put a servo booster on each schottel (such as Action Electronics (from Component Shop) P96 Servomorph. That will give you 180 degrees lock to lock. I've got a couple of tugs using schottels (one has Graupner schottels and the other one from Oceanworks) each one gives a full 180 degrees on P96s).

Hi, thanks for the reply....lock to lock it gives about 90 degrees . When I bought the tug the fella said my radio wouldn't fully articulate them? They e been in storage for many years and just getting them back out to recommission them..

What you're describing is exactly what a standard set up will achieve. Servo boosters like I've described will make the difference.
