Hi ya
Whilst visiting Dodgy Geezer's site, I downloaded the plan from the Terrier and 'needs must' I have had a go at building my version of it.
Fully motorised and radio controlled. One or two variations to the plan. I have added spray rails, moved the rear hatch further aft so I could obtain access to the rudder tiller and last but not least I bought an 'off the shelf' 2mm propshaft - everything else is built as it used to be when the kit first came out - enjoyable few days - I just have to tidy it up now and then sea trials. I did originally try and fit a rocket 400 motor MFA - but, it was slightly too long - so I dropped it down to the 380, running on a little lipo pack 1000 mAmp 7.4 volt.
Really enjoyed building this, it did take me back - dont' worry - Ian Circlip - the Zwartzee is very close to the top of me to do list.

Took the MTB for sea trials this morning - I am very impressed with it. A few club members were doing some reminiscing about when Keil Kraft first introduced the kit back in the early 1960's and they commented they would have loved to have seen it work those days on a 7.4 volt battery; instead of the Ever Ready bicycle 4.5V battery.
The trouble is you couldn't take it far out - easy to lose sight of it - it was smaller than some of the birds/moor hens on the lake.
Picture for you to see.

Don't know which of you two is the biggest masochist, Stan with the 'Scout' or you with the wooden 'Zee'

I have watched the video and had an impression that it ran very well, vividly and agilely on the water for its size.
The video is nicely recorded and good method to show us exactly and actually how the RC boat sailed on the water.!!! :-)) :-))

All that for less than a pound (in the sixties) and 'youfs' brain cells were capable of an attention span longer than that of a Goldfish.

Still have my one with the original box, along with the rudder and tissue paper. only thing is I covered the hull with teak strip

Great job John, fun boating is the essence of our hobby. Those plans of D G are a terrific way to make good boats for very little cost, and still the best way to learn the basics.
