Post by: Dean's Marine on July 25, 2024, 10:10:44 am
CV 01 AIRCRAFT CARRIER
(https://deansmarine.co.uk/shop/ApanelDMshop/images/pixel_trans.gif)CVA-01 was a proposed United Kingdom aircraft carrier, designed during the 1960s. The ship was intended to be the first of a class that would replace all of the Royal Navy's carriers, most of which had been designed before or during the Second World War. Wikipedia Displacement: 54,500 long tons (55,400 t); 63,000 long tons (64,000 t) at full load

 Length 2.48m Beam 547  depth 210mm Moulded glass fibre hull of the never built carrier, but a interesting and fascinating model in its own right.

 ( car not included )

Looks most impressive, but it'll be an awkward scale to find aircraft to suit. I make it 1/114 th scale approx.

Shouldn’t be an issue.  The new ‘carriers’ QE and POW are mostly devoid of planes

Good the see hull #1 Ron  :-))
Kits it’s actually closer to 1/100 scale as I now own the original seen in the later pictures. It’s a big beast and Ron has done an excellent job cleaning up the mould for the new hull. BTW I’m not the customer but I do know who it is!

CVA-01 isn't 'new', it was meant to be in service in the early 70s, when the air group would have been Phantoms, Buccaneers, AEW Gannets and Sea Kings.

I know CVA 01 isn’t new and the full history behind it (and the proposed class of 4 and Bristol etc) -  it’s meant as sarcasm about not having plane kits at the Deans hull scale when compared to our modern new carriers barely carrying any because there is only 30 in service {:-{
