Title: Hello

Newbie here - I am Paul and currently live near Northwich in Cheshire. I sail dinghies and we race DF65 at our local sailing club. I used to build rc model aircraft, competition aerobatic models rather than scale. That finished a few years back to due to a move and there was no local club. Last year I built an Aeronaut Diva for my father-in-law as he wanted a model boat to sail. I think he's just burnt the motor out so it will be coming back for repair.

I've been looking at model boating for a while but couldn't decide which direction to go along - in the end I think I want to try sailing boats so I'm making a start on a Star Baby as an entry level project. I got hold of the plans and have so far got the skeleton of the hull assembled.

Looking forward to asking for advice and suggestions as I go along.

Yes, that's the one.

My experiments casting the lead keel ballast have been interesting.  But at least I have two pieces of lead the right shape, size and weight.
