I'm trying to get hold of the lines for the cruiser HMS sheffield but not having much luck, Greenwich MM want £68 a sheet and no luck from the SS Great Britain collection. Any ideas please.

Have you had a look at the anatomy of ships book for Belfast?
-
Belfast was longer, wider and bigger than Sheffield although the hull was probably similar prior to her mining. (quite a bit different afterwards)
The Norman Ough drawing of Sheffield should still be held by the Great Britain Trust. Are you saying that it is not available through this link:

I have the original Davig MacGregor plans listing it.
Loyalhanna Dockyard in the USA have Sheffield listed in their Taubman Plans Range: (use the alphabetical listing of plans sub link on the page)
http://www.taubmansonline.com/
I think the above was from the Sambrook Plans which originated with Alan Raven and John Roberts.

The fleetscale plans arn't much use no lines just a general plan and side view.

Belfast was a sub class, Edinburgh class so a longer hull.

They're not much use TBH which I why they don't show them.

Re Loyalhanna:
Yes, the add to cart link seems to be broken.
If Nige can't help then maybe email Loyalhanna and see if they can assist.

I built this ship for 1943 for a client and my 1/96 hull is sold thru Fleetscale . Pictures are on my site. I also built HMS Edinburgh that was a bit longer and the main armament turrets were also a bit longer on this variant of the Town Class. The book you need is British Town Class Cruisers by Conrad Waters

The book you have coming and as suggested by John should be all you require.
I have only been able to find the drawings found here:

I hope this helps.

Thank you I think I may get a hull from fleetscale as I'm not sure I can get the lines printed off accurately, these will be helpful for the deck layout though.

No worries Dave.
The link was kindly sent to me by Mal at APS Models here in Australia. Incidentally, I believe he has a Facebook page, but I tend to stay away from that platform.

i just got a scan of a plan (for hms swift) by email from taubmans online. it includes hull lines that look detailed enough for what i want.
if still interested, try sending him an email on lhdockyard@aol.com
(he normally sends paper prints - took some discussion about scanning and emailing, but the eventual result very useable. original plan was by 'john a roberts'.

Hi there, sorry I am a bit late to join the race - but - blame Martin for not answering emails - I was able to read the Forum but not reply. Anyway, there is a guy on ebay who sells these Russian books of ships plans & etc. I know they seem a little expensive for what they are but you do get a full set of hull lines and various other structural drawings. I notice though that the text is what I believe to be Russian. So, here is the link Model Blueprints Construction Plans LOK Plany Modelarskie HMS Sheffield | eBay (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/166655646890?_nkw=hms+sheffield&itmmeta=01J741QP04BP0XT925HP95QP4B&hash=item26cd735caa:g:GnAAAOSwObhl-IfN&itmprp=enc%3AAQAJAAAA8HoV3kP08IDx%2BKZ9MfhVJKkAXmlUeTsXgoG4Ci6AsuoElQXFHRqdEarvhd%2FPL9yKNOJlc0oH8ou0Whdu57i3VO1k04pcDsiVlXY%2F0eRU9b%2BZzLSHB59YH8d%2FG2SAWZtL8xCFYVl%2FzaE3IqA%2Fv5CHC%2FLijVmpBdjW6Cl%2BO%2BE1CrVSH32WYvxk3dVUks90IH19RzSdZWqybwAdwPu%2BCNOodU%2FKT9QC8Edu3uEUSZcC5%2BLXdbCjPk%2Frq6atbfXtbvzv%2BY6uEiZvqXK1m2q4DjqzIonjTipH%2BcBsqyx6hdmyydE63%2FWxlBmVwScPuhugpE5rng%3D%3D%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR5Tg3oG5ZA) hope this is of some help.
