Hi There
Wondered if anyone in The UK knows of any suppliers of Smoke Units for model boats, I know Modelboatbit's do them but their units are a bit big top go in the models I want - there used to be a guy on the Wirral that did a self contained unit for £15 a time and they were ideal but it turns out his workshop has had a fire and being a Octogenarian he is not starting up again.
I hope someone can help - this board is a gold mine of information and for all those that have helped and will help in future I do thanks you.
Many thanks
Pat

Hi, I have used these Heng Long Smoke Generator about £8/9 on eBay, they are oil based they have worked OK on 6 - 7.2 volts

If you are willing to look beyond the UK, I would suggest Bauer-Modelle (Germany). Yes they are more expensive, but they have larger capacity than the Heng Long smoke units and come in a variety of sizes/outputs.

I used a couple of these https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B09BTKCTMC?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title to get a decent amount of "smoke" from reservoirs made from Steradent tubes. If you don't know what Steradent is, you're too young %)
Good Luck,
Tony

This model is just using one Micro USB Humidifier 5v module.

If you are looking for a really good quality product that produces realistic and controllable volumes of smoke thats linked to the throttle control, have a look at the offerings from Design Denes, they are very good, as featured in model boats magazine
