Title: what scale
Post by: madrob on July 21, 2025, 01:02:06 am
If i have a model that's 57 inch long and the real thing is 178 1/2ft long...how do i work out what scale it is, the scale calculators I've found don't work that way round, I am sure i knew how to do this  once but my old ish brain is on strike

Rob,

Based on your measurements I would say it’s 1/38

How to work it out?first convert both measurements to inches.  178 1/2 times 12 =2142 inches.
divide the full size length by the model length  2142 / 57 = 37.58
round off to the nearest whole number = 38
so scale is 1 : 38 = 1/38 as per T888
