Decent boat for its age.

The engine feels good on compression, bearings not gritty, gears look like not much time on them. shafts and universal joint OK, pull starter functioning. and a brass flywheel, excellent to fit a magnet in.
I happen to have a very nice, tiny, compact, energy-efficient Runtronic ignition, that can very easily handle VERY high RPMs...

I think you guys can guess what will happen next...

You got a potentially nice boat.! O0
This one used to be so popular here in Japan in those days and worthy of modifying for much faster one based upon your own ideas.  :-))     New or used ones could be found from time to time in Japanese auction sites. :embarrassed:
It says " for purely racing purpose" on the box caption. :-))

Mine seems to have a different engine, Kyosho branded, and visually it appears to be a ball-bearing engine.

Right now, I think the biggest challenge will be to modify the muffler such that it holds back the oil and not leave traces on the water...

Is the hull is good shape?
Not yellowed and still quite flexible?   :-))

Slightly yellowed on the inside, which I think is fuel/oil residue, since externally the hull is still fairly white-ish.
