Hi all,
I have aquired this boat for my new project, but am at a loss as to what it is. It is kit based (i think), fiberglass hull with wood an plastic superstructure. It is 4' in length.
Hope someone can help.

The top part (superstructure) is of the Pegasus 3 not sure of the bottom part.

Yes, it's based on a Spitfire class RAF launch hull, with a rather fanciful semi-freelance top. Originally by JB Mouldings (long defunct), now probably still available out of a completely knackered 25+ year old mould (with the usual apologies, "... it costs more to make crap hulls" etc) from Metcalf. Kingston Mouldings also used to do one with a slightly thickened bow, the JB one was a knife-edge which was prone to chipping. It could have originally come from any of these makers. Waverley Models now have the old Kingston mould, so you could probably get one from them. I'm pretty sure that Mike Mayhew of Waverley made the original JB hull for Jim Bennett, so if that's so, it's finally come home to daddy.

Wow, so its a bit of a heinz 57!
I rather like the look of the pegasus 3.
Thankyou for your swift information.
I forgot to mention that the boat has 2 working water cannons (removed for restoration). I not sure if i will refit these now!!

With a little bit of TLC should be a good looking model again...

Now I am at a loss as to how to model it!! I wanted to find out what it was so as I coluld return it to how it was intended to be. Now it turns out to be a hienz 57, I am not sure what to do with it!
Anyone any ideas what I could do with it? Of course artisic licence will be applied by the bucket load, but at the same time I would like it to resemble someting real!!
Open to all sugestions ;)

Yup,
that is definately the Graupner Pegasus III, superstructure grafted onto a faster shaped hull...
Interesting "custom " build methinks, keep us posted with progress ;)

like the sydney star i have built, who says that she should have been built as a container ship? the of the nuke ship is a little different, so hell, if ya peggy 3 has been grafted onto something like a crash launch or a pekasa, hell why not go whole hog, and create something a lil unique!
you probably have the only one of that boat as well, at least in that format with a peggy superstructure

Turn it into a gun boat, but, I am biased, LOL!
LOL
Good luck with your new venture, if I go for guns, I know where to come ;)
