Title: Deans Marine Pibber
Post by: colin-stevens on March 14, 2008, 05:49:01 pm: does any one know whether there is a "Water Jet Propusion" unit that will fit the Deans Marine Pibber.
I am hoping that Graupners 2347 will work/fit.

Post by: colin-stevens on March 14, 2008, 07:12:24 pm: MMMmmmm, worth thinking about, but the price is twice the graupner version, which is designed, so they say, for a larger boat than the Pibbber. pluus it comes with steering(i think). walloped of a request for info to deans, they couldnt suggest any thing, and hadnt had any feed back on using jet drive, although had heard of it being done. Had enough of experimental drives, want to do something that will work. will hope some one else has done it, seen one done, and can tell me the best way to do it.

Post by: Captain Jack on June 19, 2008, 01:19:48 am: I have two of the Graupner mini jet drives installed in the Dumas American Enterprise. I'm not sure how much room you have in your Pibber hull, but these units are compact, powerful, and the reverse buckets and steering nozzles are included. I have the Speed 400 motors attached. They push the Am Ent along at a very scale speed, and it's very maneuverable. The best thing about the jets is, you can purchase the forward only ESC's for RC cars, and they are very cheap. I'm going to try to attach some pics so you can judge the size of the units.

The white servo arm has since been removed, as it was a failed attempt at controlling the steering nozzles. It has since been replaced with a thru hull flexible push rod. These pics were taken while working out the fitment details, as the kit was actually designed for standard shaft and rudder installation.
