Title: speed controller for a 12V NiMH
Post by: dan on April 14, 2008, 09:47:01 pm
hi,
does anyone know if a ordinary 20amp mtronik speed controller would work with a 12V NiMH if the motor (brushed) is only pulling 1 amp. or does it need to be one of these very expensive speed controllers designed for brushless motors,

many thanks,
Dan

no its not  a brusd motor, its actually a motor from a car fan that i picked up from the south wales, bridgend model boat show. but i just wanted to make sure that a 12v NiMH battery pack will work with a Mtroniks 20v speed controller. the motor only pulls 1 amp

thanks

It will be a brushed motor it only has 2 connections to it.A brushless has 3 All car fan motors are 12v and of course all heavy goods are 24v.You will have no problem at all with that speed controller go for it !!!
