Try using Phosphoric Acid to clean and polish such as propellers.
It can be purchased in the form of Ceramic Tile Grout Remover.
A plastic container and a small quantity of the cleaner work well on such as Octura props.
(....and if you cover the container and heat in a microwave for 30 seconds maximum it works quicker but make sure you do take care)

I would like to add
do not seal the jar at all! Tug

RC-John, but we use for such jobs an easier and cheaper way of "how to polish".
Take a simple chalk, meant for the school-chalkboards and crack her into pieces. These pieces (the finer they are, the better it is) throw in a jaw with a mild oil (i.e. baby-oli) and get them soaked until they are weak. Then make a mould of it and start to polish with it. No matter if props or dull alumnimium, brass. stainless steel- it works brilliamt!
Best regards,
jörg
