Hello,

The Stig ? its Graham Hill, not Mansell, too small and lightly built.
His racing helmet fits tight under his chin - - - - to hide his beard !!.

Wrong again,

They use whoever they can get at the time of filming, like the african show they used Lewis Hamilton. Its even been thought and proven former formula 1 star Schumi has appeared in the white track suit.

Oooooo Sabine Schmidt ,she can drive me round the bend anytime .
No your all wrong ,the first stig is oficialy (acording to Wikipedia) Perry McCarthy ,and the second stig is played by various actors inc Dan Lang, a Swedish snowmobile cross driver,Julian Bailey and Mark Webber when Clarkson presented him with an "I AM THE STIG" T-shirt.
The Stig has talked in an interview with a Dutch TV Channel, Veronica where he had a distinctly English accent.[24] However, the voice was remarkably similar to Richard Hammond's, making it likely that he assumed the identity of the Stig for the purposes of the interview.
Make your own mind up.

It is definitely not Nigel Mansell. He is one big bloke and not the diminutive stature as most F1 drivers are. For my money Damon Hill would be about right.

Popular theory, Damon Hill does live near Dunsfold.

it would have to be someone who is/was in f1 though wouldnt it.  not just any person could hop in one and drive like they have shown in the past. unless the stig was an f1 driver for that show. ummmm. the plot thickens

I'd like to say I know but am sworn to secrecy but that would be a lie.
It's not Mr Brundle that's for sure - too thin by half.

I used to weild the spanners for a good mate in B.T.C.C and he fits the bill exactly, trouble is he's far too busy with his own business and running half the entries in a popular one make rally series to be bothered thrashing motors for J.C & crew. Some years back this guy worked for Jonathan Palmer at his race school and in just a few laps he could shave tens of seconds off peoples lap times, you'd need someone like that for the instructing and demo phase of Star in the reasonably priced car. Apparently women were the best at taking instruction and nailing consistent lap times at these corporate track days run by Dr Palmer.

I doubt if the Stig is a big name.

There are many racing car drivers out there that would require a much smaller paycheque.

With ref the F1. There are many people who stest drive and prep F1, and it could have been a different Stig for that day.

The beauty of a charachter like Stig, or Mr Blobby even, is that the person in the suit can easily be replaced.
