Title: what glue - plywood to body filler
Post by: RipSlider on June 24, 2008, 11:51:16 am
Hello all.

Just found a fairly big issue with my build - and it;s going to need a good deal of body filler - the solid, rather than elastic stuff - to dort it out.

Afterwards, I'm going to have to glue onto it and there is a fair bit of very thin ply to glue on to using the ply's edge.

Just wondering what my options are with regards to glue? I'd prefer not to use expoxy. Is there any alternative barring cyano?

Thanks

Steve

Have a look at this type of glue.  look at  the specification.

Polyurethane glue?

Is that the same stuff as aero modellers call "canopy glue"

Well, my local DIY shop has Polyurethane glue. Can't hurt to give it a go I guess.

No nothing like it, read the speck, and if you do use it wear gloves as it takes about two weeks to come off your hands.

Be careful Steve there are different types of polyurethane glue and not all are suitable for your use. O0

Sorry Hs93 you just beat me to it. :embarrassed:

Why not epoxy?
