A year long build is nearing completion for a fellow club member for his FIRST outing into model boating the model had its first its first sail this morning under full canvas.Still lots to do but it looked great on the water.
The model will have its first public outing at Kirklees next Sunday
-
WOW , very inpressive, O0 O0 O0 O0 O0
-
Now that looks absolutely superb. I hope it goes well at Kirklees but stay well away from the island!!
-
Seen this sailing this morning looks absoultly great on the water. Fellow club member went onto a steep leaning curve with
this but the end result was worth it. I wonder what he'll do next ....... O0

How toavoid the island:
-
Another view smacks of cheating to me!
-
This time with the picture?
-
Hope the weather is favourable for Blunose next Sunday and look forward to seeing it sail at KMBC's open day.
It should be a good event with a promise of 18 clubs and 5 traders visiting. See you there.
-
With a little more wind the boat came to life
-
Another shot
-
Beautiful job.
What are her dimensions (approx) and how heavy.
-
prop shafts, hmm is this a model of the replica that was built in the late 20th century to honor the original bluenose schooner?
-
Not sure about the displacement however the keel has a 22lb bulb, Mick the builder has based the model o Bluenose 2
-
How long is she? From the 22 lbs I am guessing about 4-5 feet at water line, but she is sitting in the water like a 6 plus boat.
-
Nearer to 5ft this is the builder with the launching lift he made to get the boat into the water.
-
Details of the launching lift and how it operates would be of great interst to me. I will be building a similar sized scale sail boat with a drop keel soon and will need such a device.
I am sure I am not the only one who would be interested.
-
I will take and post a number of detailed photos if you are interested this weekend?
-
Very interested. Thanks :)
Please also ask the owner if he has any engineering drawings he would be prepared to share.
