Hello Chaps.
I have recently started my first ever model build. Inspired by this (http://www.modelboatmayhem.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=3729.0)thread, thought I would give it a go. It's not going to badly so far, except one slight cock-up. Back at step 15. I was asked to Cement the Butterfly Keel to frames 10, 9, 8, 7, 6 & 5. the trim flush with frame 10. At step 24. I have realised a mistake. I glued it one frame too short!

I'm not sure what to do? I don't have any more balsa of those dimensions. Can I patch it up some how? Or should I buy some more balsa and re-do it.
You help much appreciated. Never done anything like this before.
TIA
PS: I am putting all my build photos here (http://wizer.co.uk/gallery2/v/Wood/chris-craft_triple_model_boat/).

Anything?

If it wont come out without destroying it make a paper template from the fitted frame and make a new one.
Then fit this one.

What is it glued with?
I am not an expert, but this is what I would try first.
If it is glued with CA you can buy a glue remover that softens the glue. Even if you cannot get it, CA can be brittle
You should be able to pry it out or use a spreader on either side of the keel right next to the keel. One end will come away first, the other end is a bit tricky.
The splinters that come away can be sanded off.
As Bob suggests. If you are unlucky, you may need to replace the wood. It is not balsa but looks like plywood. Lots of model supplers for this.

You could try glueing a couple of small blocks either side of the keel line on frame 6 and then simply extend the butterfly keel with small balsa pieces across to frame 5. It will have no effect on the overall strength of the model and will not be visible when finished.

Many thank for your replies. I guess what I was getting at is wether the butterfly keel was an essential part of the construction or wether I could patch it up. Footski solution seems easiest to me.
Cheers All.
Updates soon.
