Title: Lightweight Ships Boats
Post by: Colin Bishop on July 19, 2008, 06:21:50 pm
Does anyone know where I might be able to get hold of some lightweight ships boats? I'm currently building the Deans Medea steam yacht and I'm not too happy with the vac formed mouldings that come in the box. OK, I could make some from scratch but I just want to get the thing finished and move on to something else. The resin models on sale are far too heavy for the Medea which carried two boats, a small dinghy 9.5 cms long by 3.5 cms in the beam and a larger one which is 11 cms long and 3.75 cms beam.

Any ideas welcome otherwise it looks as if I will have to bite the bullet and make my own.

Have a look here Colin, I don't know if you can adapt the launches. O0

Certainly a possibility Richard but a bit pricey. I wonder if Caldercraft would just sell me the basic shells?

Thanks,
