Title: Robbe Neptun tug - construction/photos/British conversions
Post by: polobeer on July 28, 2008, 06:13:37 pm
Hello everyone,

Has anyone built this model? I would be very interested to hear about your experiences during construction (photos really appreciated). I am particularly interested to hear from anyone who has built the tug in a British guise.

As usual, many thanks fellas  O0

It's on my list of things to do.......I made a start, ballsed up the windows so re-built them (doesn't look too bad....) but am still at the cutting stage. The bulwarks and freeing ports have yet to be done etc - so it's still in the box, so to speak. I plan to make mine a UK tug - possibly in the colours of an outfit I worked for many years ago - Holyhead Towing (because that is where I am from originally).

The idea would also be to lose that mainmast and cut the funnel back or replace it, making a main mast atop the monkey island.

Oh and get shot of the two bladed plastic prop it comes with and fit a 4 bladed brass one!

But not just yet........!
