Title: water pump

i have a very large TLC. it has two ballast tanks, forward and aft. need them to avoid carrying even more weight around, also i can empty them to float of after beaching. now heres the thing. the pumps keep quitting on me. i have tried graupner,robbe pumps no good, i have tried windscreen pumps, no good. just put in a new one. lasted for about one fill then packed up. the motor housing was very hot. taken the old one apart and can find no reason why its quit.
can any one recomend a pump that is more reliable? i also will want one for my sub but there is no way i am putting in a windscreen pump(used by several other models) till i am happy they are reliable.
any ideas

Windscreen washer pumps are not designed for continuous running. Have you considered a small yacht bilge pump? These run on 12v and have a good throughput. They only run one way of course! This one only draws a couple of amps.:

RV water pumps for  fresh water supply should give you a bit more volume, and
longevity in the pump. Some can be had for as little as £20.

Look for something like this.

People have also suggested model airplane fueling pumps.
They can pump both directions.

already looked at bilge pumps, but do need reverse.

You can also have a look Shurflo type pumps and the clone versions of these pumps, which are cheaper.

|These are diaphragm based, sturdy and will pump either way.

You can reverse the flow with two two-way valves, servo operated and then use a one way pump that operates in either servo direction.
