Hi all,
Came across a Trimaran hull the other week so motors/shafts and 60mm brass props have been fitted and the superstructure and wheel house made, the wood had a few blemishes so i have rebuilt the funnels using styrene and painted up, dont quite know what to do with the rest of the boat yet, whether to have it as a towing tug or some kind of workboat with crane etc?
Any ideas/pictures you folks might have will be helpful.

Deck painted and towing bollard fitted O0 Has anyone got any pictures of how they kitted out the wheelhouse?
Cheers

Quite a bit done last night/today, fitted fire hoses, lifebelts, and tender boat, made up a Atlas crane from Model Slipway and made a different superstructure to fit on the rear, a toy crane cannabilsed which can rotate 360 degree, lift and extend the jib. Fendering to the bow and stern and a start was made on the wheelhouse interior.
Thats enough work for one day O0

Thanks Simon O0
Undecided how to operate the crane though, it as three motors that control the different manouvers and are all geared so a simple two way switching unit x3 will do if i could get my hands on one, i used a 433mhz on my Weser to control the lights but these are just a switching unit one way?

Isn't that what they call a cathedral hull?
-
Yes, just what I was thinking O0
-
if your looking for a simple way of switching ,what about this method taken from a plan i have for a remote crane

Thanks Daz, yeh that seems to be the simplest option, i will see if i can come up with something different, i may make a circuit board yet.
Took her down to the water today for sea trials and she perfomed beautifully, turned in her own length with full rudder and separate motor control.

Looking goooooooooooood

Where might one get hold of a hull like that?

Hy Guys,
Thats what they call a Trihedral Hull, three hull sectioins, two outside and the main Hull central,, a Cathedral has two Hull sections. no central Hull section.

Looking very good!
I've just seen this thread after speaking to someone earlier today about trying to get hold of one of those hulls for a rescue boat project!
Not sure I could do it to that quality though, you have a very nice model there.
