It's been a while since Norry sent me a couple of springers down to Yorkshire ,and while one went to Hull i kept the other one in the shed for myself {-) .
Having followed the topics on here i thought it's about time i made a start and after emptying the hull of whatever had fallen off the bench and into it i started with the stand .the next thing was during the build was what type of structure and having seen some of the other builds on here i ended up with this.

sorry if i have breached any copywrite :embarrassed: .
So with this in mind i came up with this , still needs a few more jobs doing ,railings ,mooring posts, etc .But it needs a name ,so any ideas (clean ones please) but then again as the original one was used for cleaning up.

LOAAADDDING SHOVELLLL SPRINGER!!!!!!! {-) {-) {-) {-) {-)
Sorry inside joke....... ;)
Springcleaner?

I`ve been wondering what the "bucket" would be carrying/lifting. If you made a skip(canal maintenance) then it would "Skipper", or with two wheelie-bins (marina use)then "Scaffie" is our local name for the refuse collectors (bin men). Both names with nautical theme. :embarrassed: ;)

Sam Spade... O0
Excellent job Portside...

Since it is used to pick up debris, how about something like "Limb Skinner" or "Bucket Tug"
-
Lynyrd Skimmer (pronounced /ˌlɛnɚdˈskɪmɝ)
:D
hopefully this will draw a parallel to old classic rock music
-
If its a springer it has to be ...........SMASH and Grab
Proteus

Bucket & Scarper?
-
' the tidy fairy' ? {-)

Right enough Toes, we arent known as the "dirty man of Europe" for nothing >:( >:( >:( >:( :( >>:-(
-
What about calling it 'Heathspring'
Tenuous link again, seeing as it's obviously a Springer and a dredger of sorts, then you've got ledger that rhymes with dredger - and then there's Heath Ledger (dec.)
-
you could be right ,there is some sh.t (word not allowed) :) in the pond at the moment ,mainly bio fuel dust from the ajacent quay where they have been discharging the last few days leaving a scum on the surface also damn weed ,when you pull it out it looks like a fishing net being drawn in ,still working on a sutable / legal way of removing it ,but thats for another topic .

Bucket'n'scarper had a good run the other day minus the bucket and a play with a barge .

not sure what the thing in the picture below the pair is ,prob a blur on the phone lense.
Like most of the other springers i have read about she too has a tendancy to dive ,but as she has a large rudder she is also very manouverable in reverse ,so rather than rebuild the wheelhouse i built a pair of knees on the back (stabilizer fins realy).

and with the lights on even better.

Oh and without the bucket, my next thing is to film her in action at stanilands regatta on the marina dry dock (yes there will be water in it so it should be called a wet dock). Its on this weekend fri,sat and sun if anyone fancys a visit ,we (GMBC) will have a stand there sat/sun .
for directions come off the M18 at thorne ,head to the town ,under the bridge and take the first right and follow the signs.
Fri is for the boaters ,sat/sun is for the fun.

Bucket 'n' scarper - so the beer's mine then?
-
A touch of the regnipS Class towboat there portside, I`m sure Toesup will be on to his lawyers by now. Nice barge.
-
Yep Grasshopper, the beer was yours "hic" and berry mice "hic" itwas too "hic".
Thanks Arrow , the barge is one of a pair i built for the club and ladened with coal they look ok ,trouble is they are not water tight and so the need for ballast after half an hour in the water is not recomended ,the problem is that they do need some baffles inside to stop the water sloshing around ,but thats another job on the list.
