Hi eveyone this boat is 1:10scale 54"long weighing in at 15kg .It has 2x 720 watt brussless they run cold and at 96% efficient.
On 12volt it does 30meters in5 sec.
On 24volt it just mad ,but good fun
I run it on gel cell batterys
I have had to put a 13kg pull sail servo in to get it to turn

The motors are 2x Tornado Thumper 4250 Brushless motor - 720 watt motor, 600 kv.
The ESC are 2x MYSTERY 100Amp Speed Controller.
The batterys are on 12volt 1x12volt 12ahp,or on 24volt 2x12volt 7ahp.
The boat is 54" long and weight is15kg
On 12volt it does 30 meters in 5sec

It can run up to 1 1/2 hours on 12volt

enlighten me, i thought that brushless ESC were voltage sensative, ie 12v= an ESC for a 12v. not covering the range you are on.
did you make the hull yourself? if so what did you use for plans?
realy does look impressive at 12v, let alone 24V.
-
Hi colin,
The esc has a voltage range of 7.4volts to 25.7 volt, and best of all they cost £6.99 +£8.99 postage each 5days to get to me.
The motors come from a model shop in maidstone £29.99 each, and each motor has the more power than 4x MFA 850.They less than1/2 the weigth and size.So motors and ESC for less than a brushed set up.
A good friend made the hull and top,and it is made from grp and its 1:10scale.
It has taken some time to get it running well and to get a good run time on the water.
I am now making the all the fittings for the boat and geting ready for painting.
kind regards

Great looking model with a fantastic performance it’s just a shame the real thing never made it as a real Lifeboat http://www.rnli.org.uk/who_we_are/press_centre/news_releases/news_release_detail?articleid=322374 (http://www.rnli.org.uk/who_we_are/press_centre/news_releases/news_release_detail?articleid=322374)
Still it’s a unique piece of RNLI history that should cause a lot of interest if you take it to any shows when it’s finished.

Hi john the fcb2 is still on the go they have been put some bit on the hull and are testing.the boat is also used by the uk police and the army.so no dead in the water yet.as a model its good fun.

Why did I not know about this site before?! >>:-( >>:-( What a brilliant selection of hulls/plans/kits!
What is the time from order to delivery like? There's certainly a couple on there that will be ordered when the wallet is a little fuller!

Hi Alex i would say around a week.I ordered 4 hulls from Andy at a show i went to picked them up 2 week later, and he had to make the hulls and tops as he did not have them in stock.
i would say thats good going, they are made to a very, very high standard.
the finish on the fishing boat was like a top class paint job did not have paint as it came in the colour i asked for.

WOW what great performance. :-)) and its a pretty big boat for electric as well
i have a jet unit lying around, and i am now seriously thinking about putting it in a patrol/rescue boat with a planning hull.
Now my hull is 39 inch long by 12 inch wide. ive tried a electric motor and its rubbish.
I need more speed and a decent amount of running time.
after seeing this boat perform like this has made me want to go this way too.
Just wondering if 1 jet will be enough for my boat though.
if i could get similar performance than the above 12 volt i would be a real happy chappie
rescue craft using jets has to be the best way to go.
here is a video my boat running 12 volt with a decaperm and a x50 prop, very poor performance >:-o
