Lucky the Mayhem logo was under water before the media arrived. :'(

What I like is that this report says £100k, the paper yesterday said £200k, you putting in a false Insurance claim ? to help pay for your replacement.

Many years ago (around 40 ish) an offshore model power boat (before the days of OMRA I might add) racing in Portsmouth harbour lost its way( well radio malfunction---early radio what did you expect) and hit a full size cabin cruiser, result:one large hole in boat, not much model left,closely followed by much abandoning of cruiser as it began to take on water (rapididly).
Epilogue: First (and possibly only) time a full size boat has been sunk by a model, MPBA insurance company shells out for salvage.
It is not known what happened to the remains of the model (or indeed the modeller) unless of course someone out there in Mayhem land knows............ :-\

WoW i fell sorry for whoever owned that boat that must of cost thousands of pounds. it was kind of cool though ;) O0 lol

If they had not delivered the boat yet, then surely it was their boat and not the customers?
Maybe my little world it just to black and white, but If it was mine and they phoned to say "sorry but your boat sank", I think my reply would of been "No your boat! Now get mine over here"!
Most important is that all where safe!

Depends on the terms of the contract of sale - if the boat was sold ex-works, the risk transferred from the seller to the buyer at the point the vessel left the factory gate. Similarly if the contract stated Free Carrier - there the risk transferred when the vessel was handed over to the carrier that was to deliver it.
