Does anyone know where I can obtain - if at all such a beast exists - a 1/48th scale towing winch? I have just bought Polobeer's 'Crosby' and plan to refit it with an open mounted deck winch in place of the tow hooks - many older stle tugs get this upgrade to keep them viable.
I've looked around and Graupner do some beauties - but alas, they don't seem to be in this scale.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Jonty
Try Caldercraft, a lot of their fittings are 1:48 scale. O0

All MMM tugs and fittings are 1:32. MACs Mouldings does 1:48 I think.

I built this up for my 1/48 SDM tug...
Sold ten of them at Foss Cup, and Burnaby BC regatta.
They are polyurethane castings, I made up a brass shaft
for the one I installed on the SDM... Just in case I make it operational.
Made up for the SDM
On theSDM deck
Under the deck house
Two more for the Springer...

Looking good so far - Caldercraft seem to be coming out tops although I could cheat and use the after deck winch from an old uunfinished kit I have of the 'Neptun' tug.....or, if push comes to shove, have a pop at making one!
Cheers lads - this is what makes the forum the best!
