Title: Flashing tape
Post by: Hagar on August 30, 2008, 04:40:22 pm
Not really a tech question, but I guess this is as good a place as any.

Has anyone used aluminum Flashing Tape, you know, the stuff you use on the roof around exit points and the like, for detailing a boat hull below the water line.

Sticks like the perverbial to a blanket, and is 100% weather proof...? And a bit easier to work with than alu sheet. Would it stay on a hull is the big question.

Might be a bit soft and prone to marking from knocks maybe?

Would peel right off after continuous sailing use.

Would need to be stuck on with epoxy or simalar completely WATERPROOF glue.
