Hi,
I just aquired one of these to finish off for a colleage. The boats finished and just needs power and radio gear fitted. A little tidying up with painting and some woodwork too.
Im wanting to fit brushless motors to it so the boat can achieve planing speed but i dont know much about brushless motors.
Anyone here able to recoomend me 2 brushless which will give this large boat a nice planing speed?
im fitting twin propellors as the boat already has a prop shaft fittied down through the keel but this appears to be a copper pipe with a steel rod siezed inside it and little chance of salvaging much from it. The copper pipe is firmly fixed inside the keel for a lenth of well over 300mm.
Cheers,
Gary

What about using Darke Horse Motors.

the first one on that page looks good! It seems easier than going brushless. Can the darke horse motors run ok on lead acids? Anyone tried these motors out?
Its early days yet but theres nothing wrong with looking ahead....

They recommend 20 cell 28volt packs.
Think you might find SLA batteries to heavy.
You could always ring Pandan Models and get their advice 01458 270097
Component shop make packs to order. http://www.component-shop.co.uk/html/large_packs.html

Have a look at my posting for Darke Horse motors, they seem to be just the thing for you.
