While waiting for the new ferry to go from Brixham to Torquay this evening I saw this trawler from Jersey. A true working vessel. I have a few mates down on the quay and am going down to do some more shots for you trawler buffs to show the amount of weathering some of these vessels go through in their working lives .

She looks very much to me like a vessel that has been laid up for some time. Interesting pictures, though and thanks, for posting them

Excellent and very helpful pics.
It's the overall effect that's so difficult - too much vs too little and where. just look at those window (?) frames = fairly uniform rust staining yet the seemingly random "blobs and runs" of rust on flat surfaces.
On the real thing = knocks, dings and bangs; on the model, sheer artistry

I do agree that the photos are most impressive, but please remember that as well as scaling the real vessel down to create a model, the weathering should also be scaled down otherwise it looks a mess....
