Hello everybody.
I just want to introduce myself and my new build "Milford Star." My name is Wilhelm and by no means an experienced model builder. My previous build models are the “Happy Hunter” and the “Rembertiturm." Building the Milford Star took me approximately 4 month . She is equipped with navigation lights, sound and a working smoke stack. The maiden voyage took place last week. I hope you guys enjoy the pictures.

Wilhelm, very nice indeed, Peter M

Super model, Wilhelm.
There have been some comments in the Forum that the instructions and plans for "Milford Star" are inadequate. You clearly triumphed.
I have just PM'd you with your formal "Welcome".

Welcome Wilhelm and congratulations on a fine model.

Hello everybody
and thanks for the friendly welcome and the positive comments on the model. I have to agree with the other forum members on the plans and instructions by Caldercraft. They are very poor indeed. What other model ship manufacturers would you guys recommend? I did read some very positive review about "Model Slipway."
Thanks again for your kind words.

Model Slipway are excellent Wilhelm with their instructions and also the information on their web site.

Could we have some more close up photos of Milford Star as there are one or two of us on here who are building it and the photos would be a help.
Thanks. O0

Wonderful model Wilhelm and finely built! There are one or two other threads here on the forum about this popular ex-RN mine sweeper trawler.

Thanks Simon,
I should have researched this Forum before I started my Milford Star. You are never to old to learn something.
How do you guys do the lettering on the boats? My "Happy Hunter" and the "Rembertiturm" did have stickers included in the kit, but not this one. I am thankfull for any advice.

Thanks for the photos Wilhelm they will be very helpful.
For lettering I use vinyl lettering from Barry's Model Lettering

Hello Richard!
That is a very nice tug and rather unusual. What prototype is it based on, or is it freelance? It would be nice to see some more pics of it...
Cheers

Very fine model indeed. It looks like you have a smoke unit? Which one did you use? Thanks very much.
-
Hi Gravman
and thanks for your comment. The smoke unit is from Graupner. It is working fine and inexpensive. So far I am using the original smoke fluid.
Regards
Wilhelm
