Title: S.T. ALISION
Post by: Roger in France on October 05, 2008, 05:38:40 pm
"S.T. Alision"

Has anyone built the Steam Trawler Alision based on the hull by "Models by Design"?

I should be very interested in any comments or information.

Hi Roger

I remember Alan Brown's publicity shots of Alison when he owned ABCO where the hull originated from.  I still have his lists somewhere in the loft.

I don't remember seeing one built but I remember Alison posing with the hull.  Now she'd have made a good running mate!!

a friend of mine did some 25 years ago, Roger.
being a massive model it HAS to be detailed greatly with a great amount of very fine detailing......if it isn't it looks more like a toy than a scale model.
Sadly when my friend made it, there wasn't either the knowledge or the fittings to fit her out correctly, available, and a toy is what she looked like. :'( :'(

Thanks, just thinking about a future project.

I notice that her name is given as S.T. ALISION but in the descriptive text she becomes ALISON. She has such nice lines and reminds me of some of the trawlers that worked out of Plymouth (Sutton Harbour) when I was a lad and which my grandfather worked on.
