Post by: garston1 on October 05, 2008, 10:08:35 pm
A couple of shots  of the Tow SAN GEORGE today at New Brighton, being controlled by members of Ellesmere Port Model Boat Club (among others). I can't believe how warm it was!

Hi all,
I got a 'phone call the other night from 'Poll' to say that Peter and the 'San George' will, hopefully, be at the towing event at Kingfisher Lake, Balne Moor on sunday so should be a good sight to see with all the other tugs there. Weather forecast is quite good, dry with a breeze, and bacon sarnies are on the menu as well. Sounds like a perfect day out for the last event of the year at Balne Moor.

Cheers,

Paul.

Hi,  this group of photies  by Martin is indeed proof of how a hobby can be ,Peter ,you and your buddies did well ,I was there with my little tid ,keeping out the way ,but i must really say ,this was a very good day ,it showed the puplic what we model boat men can/and do ,,it gave interest to the younger members of the public ,hopefully to start and have a go , and mostly ,it showed the council ,the authorities ,the people who debate what will happen to what ,,it showed these people ,,New Brighton ,model boating lake is so very popular ,and used to it,s full enjoyment ,,what a fantastic place to enjoy ones self ,and the weather on that day was good ,.
