Title: Has anyone done a landing craft springer?
Post by: RipSlider on October 07, 2008, 01:05:48 pm
Very quick question:

Has anyone produced a springer modelled on a landing craft? And i so, please could I see a picture?

Was it an easy build?

Thanks

Steve

No offers ? OK , I`ll bight. Basic shape is good, only limitation would be how deep the well was and of course a very waterproof bow-ramp/door if it was to be operational. If you dont like grey ships then very similar craft are used in the Highland and Islands by Cal-Mac and even more colourful versions throughout the world. Check back in theses posts for "Springalong" a stretched version but the basic shape is there.  (She is still in the builder`s yard pending....)

  ...Hi Guys...

I was thinking of building an Island Class Ferry ( Same as Calmacs boats) on a Springer Hull...

I,ll have to clear some room first...
