Title: Researching Fairmile Bs
Post by: DavidHale on August 30, 2006, 10:12:03 pm
Hello,

New boy here, so apologies if I am asking a numpty question!

My daughters' great-grandfather served on Fairmile Bs during WW2, and I'm looking to build a 1:24th replica of his ship as accurately as I can.  I *think* he served on Q277, and he certainly served off the west coast of Africa.  What I would like to know is are there any organisations or references that would help me to both confirm the actual boat he was on and what sort of fit out it had.  I have the Allied Coastal Forces book, and John Lamberts excelent plans, but that's about it.

Many thanks in advance!

David

you could have a look at the British Military Power Boat Trust  , they have a forum and are a friendly bunch.     http://www.bmpt.org.uk/

and you might be lucky and find a pic of the particular boat you are interested in  at  http://www.navyphotos.co.uk/
