Title: USS Texas (BB-35) Inside Turret 1 Gunhouse
Post by: BigGun Rob on November 20, 2008, 07:39:22 am
I had the good fortune of being let into the turret 1 gunhouse breech areas for the two 14"/45 guns. It's tight quarters in there, so the photos are a bit cramped, but I think they tell the story.

I suspect that imagining what it was like in there with the guns firing only starts to give a picture.

That makes a very interesting comparison with the interior of the gun house of one of HMS Belfast's triple six inch mountings.
