Thanks Wilhelm, excellent, now I can see what is wrong, they've milled the opening in the deck as a rectangle and haven't allowed for the way the superstructure steps in at the rear. Now I have a hole in the deck that isnt covered by the cabin. BUM. >>:-(

Hi DickyD,
you could cover it up with a small crate (similar as the one in front of the cabin). Should look just fine.

Can anyone tell me if I have a complete set of instructions for this kit.

I have:

1. Not to scale drawing.

2. Instruction book including 5 exploded views of parts of model.

Looking at photos of other peoples models I notice a lot of items that dont show up on either my drawing or in the instructions.

So where are people getting their information from.

Makes me wonder if I have all the information. {:-{

I think what you have Richard is the complete set as far as I can remember, from when I built the review kit for Radio Control Boat modeller/
The "other bits" that you see on other people's models are most probably extra detailing that really only comes from experience in prolongued study and building of such models, or in my case spending time scrambling over such trawlers as a young man working as a "ships supplier" in my holiday time.
Unfortunately, these "bits" only come from some years of experience, but I have to defend the kit in that (as a somewhat semi experienced modeller at the time I built it many years ago) I DID find the instructions and even the none scale plans adequate to build her to a satisfactory standard, with little problem, but I had a lot of knowledge of that type of ship.
However, it does seem that you are really not enoying the model or building her.
Why not have a break from it, build something else, and then once the enthusiasm  is fired up again, go back to it.
It took me nearly 6 years to build the model of a modified St Nectan, the large mountfleet Models trawler, because it was such a mamoth task, and the instructions were very sparce. But I  kept leaving it when ever I got bored, and going back to it later. It was the only way I completed the task, as I came very close to binning it on a few occasions.
Give it a break, and try something else.
That's my advice in your situation, and do a little research on that type of vessel for the other "bits".
neil. :-))

Hi DickyD,
I have to agree with nhp651 that this is all you get from calder craft. I did try to research the "Milford Star" on the internet but I could not find a lot of information. It might help to research similar vessels of the same time period.

Season's greetings
