Hi techno jerk here.
I was given a Logitec Quickcam E2500 webcam for Christmas.
I have it connected to my computer through Windows Live Messenger.
Dont know how to make the audio work.
Help please.
Remember, techno idiot so not too complicated please

Hi Richard,
having connected the web cam you have to tell Windows Live that it is there and for it to use the new camera.
You also need to install the web cam so your computer recognizes it. This should be done automatically by windows when you turn the webcam on.
Now open Windows Live Messenger. Near the top on the right is a little box called menu. It has a little down arrow on it. Left click on this and it opens an options box. Go down to Tools, which opens another box and choose audio and video set up. Try to follow this through if you can and you should find it works. If you get stuck, let us know for the next stage.
Best of luck,
Barry

Have you used it yet Dicky?
Any good?

Just get yourself onto Skype and talk to the world for free (assuming the kids aren't using all your available bandwidth).
There is nothing like talking to fellow modellers around the world. It allows you to see and talk to the members, rather than just read what they have to say.
If I am having a late night (or early morning), the east coast of the US (5 hours behind) is in full swing, and an hours chat makes the time fly by.
A few modelling sites now have a Skype area, and arrange calls for certain times and evenings between members. You can even set up conference calls, so a bunch of you can get together and chew the fat.

Hi Martin
Just used it to talk to Barry in Spain. Used it in conjunction with Skype and it was really great. Great sound and picture quality.
Logitect QuickCam E 2500 at about £15.00 and Skype free download. Should have done it ages ago. :-))
-
That picture quality had nothing to do with the web cam, it was just down to my good looks!!! %% %%

Frighteningly scary good looks. :o
