Title: Humbrol Authentics...?
Post by: Hagar on December 30, 2008, 04:47:03 pm
Just a question really to still my mind. What happened to the Authentic range from Humbrol? I used to use thm a lot, and have several half dried up tins.
I am assuming that they are not made any more, but when did they stop?
Shame really, I thought they where pretty good. Brushed or sprayed.

HI IanM.

The Humbrol range of paints that you are asking about  was stopped been made many years ago.Humbrol did do a  paint guide on how to mix some of the colours but this was very time consuming. I am sure if you go on to the net  you can find a paint chart that will give the nearest colour possible or how to mix them hope this helps. :-)) :-)) :-))

Thanks Stan, I'll look into that.
Might see if I can get hold of Teslers(sp?) should be the right colours (for USA military).

Ian. Just type in Humbrol Authentics on the web. You could also check out Hannants web site they do a big range of colours.Look at the web page for White Ensigns models and a company called lifecolour  paints. :-)) :-)) :-))

Hi Ian,

As has been mentioned, Humbrol Authentics long ago went the way of the dodo. Our Colourcoats range of enamels includes accurate WW2 colours for the RN, USN, Kriegsmarine, Imperial Japanese Navy, Regia Marina (these are being discontinued), as well as modern RN, USN, FN, and Russian naval colours. We have also just introduced a line of accurately-matched WW1 colours that were used jointly by the RN and USN. You'll find them on our website.

I know that John, I'm still waiting to hear if my order from the 13th has been sent yet.
Looking forwards to trying them out.
Could I be cheecky and ask for Mayhem discount!!! :-))

I have read only good about your paint so I took a chance and brough a few to try.......

PS you ever thought of doing sets. puting 30 odd tins of paint in the shopping basket one at a time takes f o r e v e r  {-)
