Title: Old Liner Videos
Post by: barriew on January 12, 2009, 09:51:11 am
I forgot I picked up this URL on our cruise last year - lots of videos of old liners and merchant ships, also paintings and teapots. I don't think it has been posted before.

Yes, Snowbow seem to have pretty much cornered the market in these old videos. They have all the best footage.

They also have some wonderful paintings which are also reproduced with other illustrations in a couple of excellent books, both of which I have.

Some great plating detail, shipping information and vocabulary usage!

I also have a couple of thier DVD's, two of the paintings by Robert Lloyd and one of the books.  One of the paintings wasn't actually available as a print but they did it especially for me.

I would also love to do one of thier cruises but unfortunately two weeks is rather a long time to spend away during my leave so it might have to wait for retirement!

The books are a collection of beautiful paintings that look incredibly real and accompanied by a brief history of the company in question.  Anyone with any interest in our maritime heritage will love them.

I have to say also that Snowbow go out of thier way to help and are a real pleasure to deal with.
