Excellent idea, Norry. They do look great.

The springer is my favourite model for Lake visits. You can do almost anything to them and they survive. ideal for introducing newcomers to our hobby.  Well done

Our club had 4 boats we could let the youngsters, and their parents, have a play with on our regular sailing days, but they were destroyed in our vandal attack. On event days, we make a small charge for their use to help club funds. However, new ones are built, and awaiting installation of radios to be operational. I believe it's something all clubs could consider.

Peter.

...Hi Duncan...

Its down to the Chandlers for a roll of Hatch Sealing Tape...That makes for good fendering...No Chipped Paint that we could see but plenty of Happy Wee Ones...Some of Them were just going back to the end of the Queue for another go...Whats that abouta Booking in September...

...Steamboatphil...
Its not just me, The Whole Club was involved in some part of the project...

...The Long Build...
One of our guys supplied the Motors & Speed Controllers, They were going just a wee bit on the Fast Side but with more fendering they should handle it OK...I will try to get you a picture of the inside of one of the boats...

Garage door seals works well as fendering...

Also, its a lot of work, but lego tyres can also keep the paint from getting chipped...

By the way Norry, excellent work on the Springers and also getting the youngsters involved!.. A+
