I've almost finished my Fireboat and would like to add some detail to the 'dashboard' in the wheelhouse as its quite visible - pictures of dials etc are what I'm after. I know that BECC do a sheet of various dials, but I was hoping to find something on the internet that I could print out at the required size. My Googling has not been very successful - probably because I'm not using the correct search terms. Does anybody know of a source?
Thanks
Barrie

Hi Barrie
You could buy some and scan and enlarge/reduce on computer.
Or you could creat some yourself. MS Powerpoint is probably the easiest to use.

Would something like this be of use?.. ;)

I think I may have mentioned this before, but why not contact either the boat or the brigade ( or anything remotely similar). Get permission to take some gigital pics, print them out at the sizes you want and then just stick the pics onto simple block consoles or whatever. Worked a treat on my Bluebird of Chelsea. BY.

Thanks for those. The Tower hobbies one are very similar to the BECC ones.
Bryan good idea, but here in Derbyshire we are about as far away from the sea as its possible to get!

here's a good thought Barrie - have a look for Revell/Airfix plastic cars - the 1:32 stuff - maybe you could use pieces of the dashboard from the kit/s ??? Just a thought.
The other thing is I have seen a dashboard made up where someone used very thinly sliced pieces of drinking straw to represent the circle of the instruments - and this was then painted silver and they were then glued into position on the dashboard. There was then a piece of clear epoxy resin dropped into the circle to form the glass ..... an idea..... :-))

Also have a look at the working with plasticard thread.

Further to my last....if you are too far from the sea then how about:-
Go to a shop (Borders Books perhaps) that have a good selection of magazines.
Look at the Kit and Custom car mags. Lots of instrument photos in them.
Look at the better yachting and gin-palace mags...pics of radars, echo sounders etc.
Again, scan and print to your size. I actually used pics of my stereo set up as part of the layout, looks suitable. I'll put some pics on here and see if you can use any of them. BY.

See if these are of any use. They are from a tug, but I would imagine that some of the systems are similar...

OK, 3 refused. Try again....

Getting fed up with this:-

Bryan,
Many thanks for all your efforts. I really do appreciate them.
Everyone - I now have sufficient information thanks. The reason for not following up Bryan's other suggestions is that I am off on holiday for 8 weeks, and am trying to get this boat ready before I go so that I can sail it when I get back. Evening sailing starts on our club waters on the 7th April - I return on the 2nd %)
