I heard, a few years ago, of some one making hulls for SS Shieldhall. Does anyone know if there are hulls available for that vessel, and if so where? Same for drawings.
I've checked the Shieldhall web site without success.
Thanks

Hi John,
Can't help with the hull but just had a look around the website and in particular the bridge 360,
what's that grey metal box (upperback wall) with the green ship shaped panel and sliver domes on it?

Didn't find that site on my tour....excellent! The panel...I wonder if its to do with drop tanks in the hull. This was a sludge carrier for Glasgow dropping its sludge at sea. I wonder if its the control panel for in hull doors for dropping the sludge from under the hull.

possibly Kingston Mouldings or could try Waverley Models, but I do remember it, so you are not going ga ga {-) %%

I've just checked both their catalogues and can't find it either. But like Neil, I know I have seen a reference to it recently.
Somebody will have the answer - they always do!

"Hi Martin.
The box you were looking at is the controls for the navigation lights.
Each of these lights has two bulbs selected by the rotary switches.
If a selected bulb fails a buzzer gives the alarm so that the reserve
can be selected.
If you need to know more, please shout.
Cheers

Thanks for the info. Wouldn't have imagined it being that.

Paper Shipwright has a waterline card model of the Shieldhall at http://www.papershipwright.co.uk/ps26/details.shtml

Thanks for the heads up on the card site. I was hoping for drawings that would give me a hull profile to allow me to build from scratch, or purchase a glass hull if available. The card model can be of assistance to get the deck detail and postioning if the drawings aren't available.
