Title: alternative brush cleaner for removing resin!!

hi today i was fibreglassing only to realize i had no acetone or wifes nail varnish remover which ive used in an emergency before.i had a think and tried mr muscle kitchen cleaner(lemon)i sprayed a bit on my hand to remove some id got on my hand and off it came.so i removed the top and poured some into an empty jar and popped my brush in and yep you guessed it same result.so if you need a cheap alternative to acetone try this stuff !!hey the missus says its also good for the hob!! whatever next  ::).

It was! Thank you. I wonder what's in it - I'll have a look when i do the shopping this afternoon (makes a break from decorating). :)

to be honest who cares all i know is it works great,my brush was clean as a whistle after a quick dip in the stuff,must point out it was polyester resin .might need to test it on epoxy but i dont see why it wont work .

Just thought that if it's good at dissolving resin it might be good at dissolving me! Not much info on the bottle except to wash your hands afterwards! I've got a GRP job coming up on my 1:1 scale boat so I'll stock up beforehand.

i washed my hands with it with no harm done so no worries just dont drink the stuff.at least it smells better than acitone lol.

Great tip, thanks. Duly stored away in remnants of memory for next time I have to use that 'orrible stuff (resin that is)

glad to help mate when needs must its allways handy to have an alternative,who knows i might never buy acetone ever again orrible smelly stuff!!.

lol i think thats a tuff ask but who knows try it!!.
