I am building a WWII destroyer HMS Barfleur. I am making good progress but...........................................
Float nets, I have built the cages/containers, but cant find any details of the nets themselves and therefore I am at a loss how to make them.
The only close up (ish) picture I can find seems to show the net in a long canvas bag.
How were the constructed?
Can anyone shine a little more light on them and maybe tips for construction at 1:96 scale?
I may end up just making canvas bags but would like to be more accurate.

these were basically nets with cork inserts. I can supply the USN pattern which are similar , these were held in perforated baskets rather than the open RN type. Check on my site shop if is of help . www.johnrhaynes.com

Yes I have seen your baskets. but its the nets I need detail for.
I have just placed an order with you for some other items for Barfleur. (will it be sent out before your short closure?)

No order has come through yet [ Momday am ] but will check again during the day ,. It was the net insert I was referring to [ not the basket] and when your order does arrive I will put in one of the inserts so you can see if they suit , John

My mail to you is being returned so I am contacting you on this forum. Your order was posted Saturday . Regarding the inserts , take a look at my Starling model on my site , on the rear bandstand and see the RN holder and net insert. On my site this insert is JRH 731 , just put 731 into search on the shop home page. John

I will be making a further order later. John
But just before, John may I as do you produce the ship boarding ladder set! I cant see one on your lists.
Like the picture but RN 1:96 and folded?

I do not sell this assembly in my shop . Not many people would buy this PE as it does not lend itself to R/C modelling , only cased /display models. However I can let you have one for a few pounds . Will put this aside for when you place another order along with a floatanet insert.

The first order arrived an hour ago, 10.15.
Stunning quallity, the boats are fantastic. sometimes I think can I afford extra detailed fittings (short time working and all) and then they arrive and the answer is YES!
Just sent second order and e-mail (being cheeky).
