How about this for all things nautical,
Not really sure what you call it, it’s a house boat, but its not really a boat … well not all of it !!!
We passed it yesterday whilst on the Thames doing a publicity event, so I had to photograph it …
I have done a bit of asking around and it is a dwelling, the rumours have it the ‘property’ is called ‘a slice of reality’ – and basically is now owned by an artist/ sculptor who has the lower section as a workspace and the upper section as his home… its located right by the millennium dome/ O2 arena – also the vessel is said to be part of the open house scheme so once a year the public can enter and take a look around.

Well as you have to pay mooring fees by the foot, I think he's saved himself a few quid :-))
-
He's got a lot of damp in the wine cellar, wonder what the rate of corrosion is around those parts :embarrassed:

It was a ship called the Arco Trent, she was a derdger. She was towing up to the North East a few years ago and the bow and stern was cut off then put on a barge and towed to the Thames, the guy who did its name was Richard Wilson.
I use to sail on her for a few years, it was a nice ship, some good memories

What happened to rest of the ship ?
-
As far as i Know when she was in the shipyard being cut up, the rest went for scrap

No way, this was a marrage split up....................... {-) {-)
