Title: Trent Lifeboat Numbering
Post by: BlueWotsit on February 21, 2009, 09:05:20 am
Looking at the Model Slipway model of a Trent their model of 14-10, has black decals on three parts of the superstructure.

Looking at pictures of full sized boats most seem to have white numbering on the hull instead.

I'm basing my model on 14-18 but cannot find a picture of it to identify which method / position I should be using.

Can anyone help ?

thanks
Andrew

Andrew have you tried ringing

 Barry’s Model Lettering
Unit 80
Conduit Street
Leicester
LE2 0JN

www.modellettering.com
barry@modellettering.com

Barry does several different lifeboat names for each set of decals.

He does all the decals for Model Slipway lifeboats.

The decals in the Model Slipway kit are of the OLD STYLE lettering/numbering system. The pictures of the boats today are the new style. Which to use depends upon what year you want to depict the boat. The answer is to find a picture of 14-10 taken in the year you are modelling her. 8)

Andrew

You could use either as the livery change was changed about the time of the 175 year anniversary in 1999.

As Mike said it depends on what date you want to depict the boat.
