Title: Great news for Moto GP fans
Post by: Proteus on February 26, 2009, 06:21:55 pm
Euro sport will be showing the races after all  so we wont have to listen to the dribble from the BBC, but it will not start until the race has finished so will be time delayed

And I see that Marco Melandri will be riding a Kawasaki this season after all, no ride for John Hopkins though.

Won't be long now... :-))

This is really bad news for MotoGP, last year you could watch 125, MotoGP then 250 live back to back as it happened. I can't see the BBC doing this as they only showed the GP class most of last year. Added to that the dire commentary team all adds up to fans being worse off this year.

Look what the BBC and then Channel 4 did to the WRC

If you read it it says that euro sport will be doing 125 and 250 live and the practice as they did last year and just the Moto gp time delayed until the BBC has finished there broadcast so all we have different is a time delay on the Moto GP

thats the best news I've had all year!!!! Eurosport are the only channel that did motoGp Justice. Toby moody & Julian Riders knowledge of the subject is vast
moto gp riders are the greatest sports men in the world, & unlike the 'lawn fairies' of the premier league, they really do earn their money !!!!!

cant wait for the new season !!!
cheers Glenn

The sad part about the BBC coverage is that they intend(ed) to use their incumbents, who are basically poor commentators.  There are very few top sportspersons who can talk about their sport lucidly and in an entertaining manner, and have the required "character" to carry it off.  Toby Moody and Julian Ryder made a superbly entertaining team, and Randy Mamola is one of the few top sportspersons who can carry off the pit lane job.  I do hope the Eurosport coverage doesn't degenerate into 5 minutes of bikes going round a corner followed by 10 minutes of talking heads.
With the shift to BBC I feel that we will go direct from "head of gold" to "feet of clay" without passing through "belly of plastic padding" on the way.
