Anyone tell me what the catch is with the offer on the leaflet in MB for the Hood and the Bismark for £2.99 {:-{
-
Yes, I was wondering that as well, same leaflet in Ships Monthly. Seems too good to be true....

I really can't see anything Dicky, no payment, no committment, nothing else to buy, makes you wonder just what's driving it for them. Or are we getting old and cynical and can't believe a bargain when we see it?
-
These types of offers makes one paranoid!
I felt that I spent more time looking at the leaflet, putting it down only to pick it up again to see if I had missed something, then I had looking at the magazine.
I can't remember who its associated with as I am at work at the moment, and my mag's at home, but is it the Red Cross or the Poppy appeal? If it is, I can't see them pulling a scam or a fast on.
Can you?
I think I might give it a go.
But then again, I'm not so sure! :o

look at general chit chat,, feb 28th diecast models, i spotted this a few weeks ago,, i know 5 people who have sent away for the hood and bismark 4weeks ago and none of them have had any response <*<
-
the firm is called atles i sent away for the aircraft a few months ago everthing ok £2 99 no catch did take about 5 weeks to arrive i ordered ships 3 weeks ago not arrived yet
-
Still waiting for mine too. The leaflets are everywhere. Mine was in a monthly aero mag. I too scrutinised the ad looking for a catch.
Nothing obvious that I could see. I do wonder though, if this is just an introductory offer and any future models will be priced a lot
higher for anyone who wants them.
This seems to happen regularly, a recent example being diecast tractors, 1/64th scale I think. The first one was a Ferguson
priced at, if I remember correctly, £1.99. The following issues were about £7.99.
Soon find out I expect, if and when the models arrive.
-
no catch just accept the £2 99 models so far i have the spitfire messerschmitt 109e the lancaster and b17f memphis belle and very good models at that cannot fault them. also the two trains are good
-
I got mine from the father-in-law,he collects the planes and thought I might like the Hood and Bismarck.
Got to admit the detail on them is pretty impressive but of course they want you to subscribe to receive more, next one on offer is the Duke of York Ithink I think.
-
dont subscribe just wait for the next offer what ever that will be just buy the £ 2 99 ones that is what i do
-
No catch
But you will go down on a mailing list.
I have seen these from someone who has received them , seem pretty good.
-
Mine arrived this morning, from France, don't look bad little models.
No good for R/C :o
-
Interesting you say "....from France" as I noticed an advert for diecast cars at similar prices (featuring an older Citreon) which is popping up on several French web sites. They are using the name "Dinky Toys" for the replicas.

Just received mine from France.
For the money they are excellent.
