Post by: sentry on April 06, 2009, 12:51:08 pm
Hello Gents,
Just wondered if any member has used plasti-kote KRYSTAL CLEAR SATIN  as my local home base is selling it off cheak and would like to know if its safe to spray my hull with it will be sprayed on top of halfords semi black and red plastic primer, if not do i have to brush paint the hull with RONSEAL SATIN POLYURETHANE as i cant find it in a spray any where dont want to mix but HALFORDS dont seam to sell a satin cear coat,
Thanks for any help you may give.
                                                       Regards Sentry.

Hi sentry, I have been using plasti-kote on top of Halfords for a while and it works fine, the only proviso is that it does not work too well on their appliance white. It seems to dull it down.  Also use very light coats and allow to dry between them. Hope this is some help :-)) :-)).......Smudge

Sentry I WOULD NOT use it or any varnish on top of Halfords paint, why do you need it????????
Reason for not using it is very simple, what are you going to do it you scratch the hull, you certantly CAN NOT use halfords to repaint the hull as it will react with the Plasticoat.
As FLJ says suit youself
